
Students with the following conditions shall be excluded from school but are not limited to:
- Communicable disease
- Diarrhea (i.e. two or more loose stools per day for two days)
- Vomiting
- Red eyes with purulent discharge
- Skin lesions (i.e. impetigo, ringworm and scabies) until under treatment
- Temperature of 100 degrees F or higher
Other reasons to exclude a student from school could include but are not limited to:
- Drainage from ear(s)
- Fainting, seizure, or general signs of listlessness
- Elevated (or possibly a normal) temperature combined with any of the following:
- a severe cold with yellow-green nasal discharge, excessive coughing or sneezing, swollen glands, excessive nasal discharge or skin rash.
- Head lice (must be lice-free with continued progress toward removing nits to come back to school)
- Skin lesions (i.e. impetigo, ringworm and scabies) until under treatment
- Communicable disease
Return to school information:
- Students will be re-admitted after being fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications.
- Students with vomiting/diarrhea must be symptom free for 24 hours without medications before retuning to school.
- Students with some conditions may return to school after being treated for 24 hours with an antibiotic.
